TORONTO, April 11, 2013 /CNW/ - The LOTTO 6/49 jackpot has climbed to record heights. The Saturday, April 13 jackpot draw will be an estimated $55 million, the largest jackpot in Canadian lottery history.
"After thirty years, LOTTO 6/49 is still an exciting game. We're thrilled to offer players the largest estimated jackpot in the game's history," said Wendy Montgomery, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Ontario Lottery and Gaming.
The current record jackpot is $54.3 million from October 2005 which was won with a single ticket sold in Western Canada and claimed by a group.
Players can purchase a ticket at any OLG authorized retailers across the province until 9 p.m. on Saturday night.

Ontario lottery players received $1.7 billion in prizes in the 2011/12 fiscal year.
