Commerce Court Hosts Toronto's First Ever Winter Festival in the Financial District

A celebration of winter and heritage is warming up the city

TORONTO, Feb. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Commerce Court, Toronto's landmark building complex at King and Bay streets, today announced it is warming up the downtown core with the Financial District's first ever Winter Festival. Beginning today, Torontonians are invited to embrace the winter and experience the charm of an intimate Festival located in the heart of the city.

The five day Festival kicked off this morning with beautiful ice sculptures and an indoor sidewalk sale. Other Festival features beginning on Tuesday include a marshmallow roasting station at King and Bay and an outdoor Winter Market in The Courtyard with specialty food offerings. On Wednesday, the Commerce Court West Lobby will be turned into an indoor ice skating rink with select performances by the Canadian Junior Skating Squad and members of the National Precision Team and a few other surprises for visitors along the way.

The Winter Market is a centuries-old tradition that originated in Europe and sought to bring new experiences to visitors through foods, delightful vendors and much more. This week's Festival is a modern take on a cherished tradition and is truly an event like no other in the Financial District. The Winter Festival also offers visitors a chance to spend time with colleagues, friends and family in an intimate and unique setting.

For those looking to experience the Winter Festival, the Market will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week from 11:30a.m. - 2:00p.m.and 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m., with the indoor sidewalk sale running from Monday to Friday, 9:30a.m. - 6:00p.m. The indoor skating will take place on Wednesday with show times at 8:15a.m., 11:30a.m, 12:30p.m. and 1:30p.m.
