Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec to build a new head office at Technopôle Angus. (CNW Group/SOCIETE DE DEVELOPPEMENT ANGUS)MONTREAL, Feb. 14, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Société de développement Angus (SDA) is pleased to announce the construction of the 13th building at Technopôle Angus, to house the head office of Ordre des infirmières et des infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) and Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l'espace francophone (SIDIIEF). The new building will be located on rue Molson between Mont-Royal and Rachel, in the borough of Rosemont─La Petite-Patrie. Construction kicked off on Monday, February 11, 2013, and will be completed in summer 2014.
OIIQ was looking relocate its offices to better meet its changing needs. "Technopôle Angus was the obvious choice for lots of reasons—the competitive cost, easy access via public transit for employees and visitors, and its approach to sustainable development," explained OIIQ president Lucie Tremblay.
An eco-friendly LEED Silver building
OIIQ has hired SDA as primary contractor for the 60,000 sq. ft.,
four-storey turnkey building. In accordance with its sustainable
development policy, SDA will build to LEED-NC (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design-New Construction) standards at a conventional
building cost. Green features include a white roof, a high-efficiency
ventilation system for energy savings of up to 40%, green car parking
with grass to reduce heat islands, bike parking, and a nearby BIXI
station to encourage people to leave their cars at home—all in order to
obtain LEED-NC Silver certification.
SDA's partners on this project are Lemay & associés (architects), SNC Lavalin (building systems), Pasquin St-Jean & associés (structural and civil engineering), Groupe TEQ (general contractor) Roy et Tremblay (Project planning and Management) and Version Paysage (landscape architects).
Technopôle Angus: A hotspot for health
OIIQ and SIDIIEF will bring close to 160 new workers and new energy to
the Technopôle's already thriving health hub. Christian Yaccarini, SDA
President and CEO, is delighted to welcome new health sector
organizations to the Technopôle. "This latest addition is proof
positive that the Angus development model, with its focus on community
and sustainable development, just makes economic sense for large
organizations."
OIIQ will be in good company among neighbors such as CLSC de Rosemont and Centre de Santé Angus—which features a family medicine clinic, a radiology clinic, a rehabilitation center, and a pharmacy—as well as Locomotion gym, Spa Escale Santé, and various research laboratories, each a vital part of Technopôle Angus's health hub.
Technopôle Angus is a business park where close to 2,000 people work, live, and play on a daily basis at the heart of Montreal. It is home to 52 businesses and organizations from several dynamic sectors of the economy.
4200 Dorchester Ouest
SDA has made an offer to purchase OIIQ's current head office, located at
4200 boulevard Dorchester Ouest in Westmount. The offer was accepted.
Plans to develop this building have not yet been finalized.
