More than 10,000 signatures to date!
MONTREAL, Feb. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - More than 10,000 people have already signed the petition launched by The Save the Lachine Hospital of the MUHC Committee demanding that the Ministre de la Santé keep the Lachine Hospital within the MUHC and invest the $63 million promised for modernization and expansion plans.
To help build awareness for the campaign and to sensitize the population to the cause, Madeleine Chantelois, President of Les Auxiliaires de l'Hôpital de Lachine, has already distributed some 500 purple squares (the official colour of the Lachine Hospital). In this photo, Chantelois pins a square on Claude Dauphin, mayor of Lachine and committee co-chair, under the watchful eye of Edgar Rouleau, mayor of Dorval and committee co-chair.
We need to keep up the pressure to ensure that the Minister chooses to keep the Lachine Hospital within the MUHC and breaks ground on the modernization project. Please sign the petition and help us circulate it throughout Lachine and Dorval. You can sign in many places, including at the two city halls, at the office of the MNA for Marquette, François Ouimet, and the Lachine Hospital. An electronic version is available on the National Assembly's website at www.assnat.qc.ca and a paper version on the Foundation's website at www.fondationhopitallachine.com.
Members of the Committee will be gathering signatures for the petition at the IGA in Lachine (490 28e avenue) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend (Feb 15-17).
