Nomination of Pierre Bellerose to the position of General Manager of the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal
MONTREAL, Feb. 6, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société des célébrations du
375e anniversaire de Montréal, the non-profit entity responsible for
the organization of Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations, is
pleased to announce the nomination of Mr. Pierre Bellerose to the
position of the General Manager, effective February 11, 2013.
For over twenty years, Pierre Bellerose has assumed a variety of
leadership roles within Tourisme Montréal. He presently holds the position of Vice President of Research, Public
Relations and Product Development in addition to his responsibilities
as spokesperson and head of governmental relations.
Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in a number of
boards of directors and committees in the tourism and cultural sectors,
both at the local, national and international level. Deeply concerned
with city issues, Mr. Bellerose sits on both the board of the Festival Montréal en Lumière and the board of Festival Mutek. Since 1995, he has led Montréal's cultural tourism initiative and was
the primary manager of an event assistance program implemented by
Tourisme Montréal. Extremely involved into the social media field, he
has also presented a dozen conferences in recent years about the impact
of Web 2.0 on tourism.
"Armed with a wealth of experience in the event, cultural and tourism
sectors, Pierre Bellerose has the expertise and knowledge required to
meet this challenge. Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations will be all the more spectacular given his
great passion for the city," stated Jacques Parisien, Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer at Astral Media inc. and Chairman
of the Board of Directors of the new company.
"Over the years, Pierre Bellerose has cultivated an incredible affinity
and expertise for Montréal's event scene, which made him an immediate -
and obvious - choice to lead the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal," added Gilbert Rozon, President and Founder of the Just for Laughs Group and
Commissioner of the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal.

Minister responsible for the Montréal Region.
While his mandate at the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal will officially begin on Monday, February 11, 2013, Mr. Bellerose will
phase into his new role gradually, with full adoption of duties planned
for summer 2013. In the meantime, he will continue to carry out his
responsibilities at Tourisme Montréal on the part-time basis so as to
facilitate the transition of current projects.
The mandate of the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal is to organize various public and private initiatives in accordance
with Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations to be held in 2017.
