The Electric Circuit: the AMT completes its second rollout phase - Users of the AMT's park-and-ride facilities will have access to 20 new charging stations

MONTREAL, Jan. 16, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - As a founding partner of The Electric Circuit, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) is pleased to provide its customers with 20 new public charging stations for electric vehicles at its park-and-ride facilities. Forty charging stations are now installed in the following park-and-ride facilities in the greater Montréal area: the Châteauguay, Chambly, Chevrier, Repentigny lots, the Terrebonne, De Montarville, Radisson and Cartier terminals and the Bois-Franc, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Sainte-Thérèse, Roxboro-Pierrefonds, Sunnybrooke, Deux-Montagnes, Blainville, De La Concorde, Saint-Lambert and Saint-Bruno train stations. The charging stations at La Prairie will follow shortly.

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is a major milestone in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec.

The Electric Circuit will offer up to 150 240-V public charging stations by the end of January 2013, in parking lots of the AMT, as well as those of many RONA hardware stores, Metro grocery stores, and St-Hubert Restaurants throughout Québec, among other places. Since its launch on March 30, 2012, 18 private and institutional partners have joined The Electric Circuit. This expansion will continue to cover a greater geographical area and serve more and more EV drivers in many regions of Québec.

Electric vehicle owners do most of their charging at home and at work, but the public charging network allows drivers to travel worry-free, knowing they can top up their batteries on the road. Users of The Electric Circuit also have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
