$50 Million Jackpot Prize Still Unclaimed
TORONTO, Jan. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - If you're a LOTTO MAX lottery player and may have purchased a ticket in the Cambridge area for the November 30, 2012 draw, now is the time to head to your nearest retailer and check your numbers. It has been over a month since the draw and the $50 million winning jackpot ticket from Ontario is still unclaimed.
"Consumers have up to one year to cash in their winning tickets, but for a $50 million jackpot, it's unusual that a winner hasn't come forward yet," said Sarah Kiriliuk, Media Relations Manager at Ontario Lottery and Gaming.
The winning ticket was purchased in Cambridge, Ontario, but that doesn't mean this is the city of residence of the winner(s).
"Southwestern Ontario has a very transient nature, with people working sometimes over an hour away from where they live. The holder of this winning ticket could very well reside in another city and just happened to purchase a ticket while passing through Cambridge," said Kiriliuk.
Players can check winning numbers on OLG.ca, by visiting a lottery retailer or by calling OLG's WIN! Line at 416-870-8946 (Toronto area) or toll free at 1-866-891-8946 (outside the Toronto area).
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $1.5 billion in prizes, including 26 jackpot wins and 155 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, Casinos, Slots, and Resort Casinos have generated more than $36 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Proceeds from OLG's operations help support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport through the QUEST FOR GOLD program, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities.
