TORONTO, Dec. 24, 2012 /CNW/ - A Christmas tradition continues as The Salvation Army Bloor Central Church prepares to serve 1,000 Christmas Day dinners at 789 Dovercourt Road, Toronto.  Major John Murray, spokesperson for The Salvation Army will be on location at 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for media tours and interviews.

"For many, Christmas Day is a very lonely time and The Salvation Army is privileged to be able to share Christmas Day with community friends who otherwise would have nowhere to go," says Major John Murray, spokesperson for The Salvation Army.  The 1,000 dinners will be served by 200 volunteers and Salvation Army staff. "This Christmas Day tradition is replicated in cities across Canada and in many communities it is also a daily ministry of The Salvation Army," says Major Murray.
