    TORONTO, Sept. 14 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at 10:30 am,
Canada's Association for the 50 Plus (CARP) will join forces with the Ontario
Citizens Cancer Coalition (OCCC) and other supporters at a press conference to
launch Vote for Access, a grass-roots campaign demanding that Ontario
politicians commit to providing better access to newer intravenous cancer
drugs and positron emission tomography (PET) scans in the upcoming election.
    Ontario currently ranks as one of the worst provinces in the country in
terms of providing funding for access to newer intravenous cancer drugs and
PET scans.
    The press conference will take place outside Queen's Park and will
highlight the two simple demands being made, and how, through grass-roots
initiatives, Vote for Access will be made an election issue.
    Press conference speakers include addresses from CARP, the OCCC, and
other supporters of the campaign, including cancer patients and survivors who
