TORONTO: International Perspectives on Impaired Driving. World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Two day conference welcomes 150 professionals, volunteers, and victims working in the impaired driving issue. Countermeasures XIX will discuss latest legislation and showcase prevention strategies. This year's theme:  International Perspectives is in recognition of the UN's World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Expertise will be shared by Robyn Robertson, President and CEO, Traffic Injury Research Foundation; Floor Lieshout, Director of YOURS (Amsterdam); Chief Superintendent Don Bell, Ontario Provincial Police; and many others from government, police and community.

Special activities include:

  • A Mosaic Memorial (completed over the two days)

  • Peter Wong award will be presented to OPP Constable Steve Jacko Monday at lunch
