Toronto Entertainment District BIA's Low Rise Flats Make Way for High-rise Stilettos During World MasterCard Fashion Week
TORONTO, Oct. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Last month, during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), an international spotlight shone on the Toronto Entertainment District. The focus on TIFF's September red carpets has now shifted to the equally sensational October catwalks of World MasterCard Fashion Week. A week of fashion, retail and dining promotions will sashay directly from the heart of the Toronto Entertainment District at David Pecaut Square, beginning on October 22 and running through to October 26, 2012.
Following on the heels World MasterCard Fashion Week are over twenty members of the Toronto Entertainment District Business Improvement Area who will participate in Stylicity, a series of exclusive offers and experiences benefitting MasterCard cardholders. Among the Entertainment District's "most fashionable pairings" are a collection of Prix Fixe dinners, value added appetizers, and spa treatments to be offered at member establishments. The featured Stylicity participants include: Aria, Arriba Restaurant, Azure Restaurant & Bar, Bloke & 4th, Canyon Creek, The Charlotte Room, Fred's Not Here, Fresh on Spadina, Hey Lucy, HUSH, Joe Mamas, The Library Bar, Milagro Cantina, Mix Bistro Bar, N'awlins Jazz Bar, PLAY Lounge, The Red Tomato, Victor, as well as Spa My Blend by Clarins at The Ritz-Carlton and The Spa InterContinental Toronto Centre http://worldmastercardfashionweek.com/Stylicity/
The Toronto Entertainment District is thrilled to once again be the home to World MasterCard Fashion Week. The MasterCard Stylicity program brings our community together, supports local businesses and highlights the most visited downtown neighbourhood in Canada," said Janice Solomon, Executive Director, Toronto Entertainment District BIA.
Expected on the scene, and behind the scenes, of the Spring/Summer 2013 collections are fashionistas who may also wish to strike a pose in public with couture themed cocktails at a number of Toronto Entertainment District restaurants. Drinks designed for the occasion will be on the menu: skinny sips of "Queen Victoria's Secret" are being poured from The Library Bar at The Fairmont Royal York; Aria Restaurant is en vogue with the "Haute Couture Cosmo" martini; Azure at InterContinental Toronto Centre offers model citizens "The Uptown" and Canyon Creek gives a nod to high fashion with their "Stiletto."
