Sweeeet! Maynards unwraps its first-ever Candified Canuck
'Swedish Berries starring Jessica' marks the first time a fan's features have been created into candy
TORONTO, Oct. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Get a taste of this! For the first time in candy history a fan has literally become the face of Maynards, Canada's #1 candy brand. Jessica Winacott, the 25-year-old winner of Make Your Face a Maynards, now has her features perfectly preserved on delicious Swedish Berries candies which are available for a limited time in stores across Canada.
"My Maynards candy is amazing - I had an idea of what it would look like, but to actually hold it, and EAT it, is fantastic," said Winacott. "This experience has been so unreal - I'm so proud to be part of something literally so sweet! It's not every day that you have a candy named and shaped after you."
Winacott was one of more than 3,000 Canadians who morphed their fabulous features into candy caricatures on the Maynards Canada Facebook page for the chance to become an actual candy as part of the Make Your Face a Maynards contest. Winacott was randomly selected from the top 10 finalists, catapulting her into confectionery stardom.
"We want our fans to play with their sweet treats and have fun with all the fantastic personalities in our candy lineup," said Kristen Knox, Brand Manager, Maynards Candy. "Make Your Face a Maynards was a chance to show our fans some love, and with Jessica's Swedish Berries ready for Canadians to enjoy, we were actually able to transform a fan's features into a real candy - that's never been done before!"
