Media Advisory - London 2012 Oympians help sort Thanksgiving Drive donations

TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2012 /CNW/ -

WHAT: Thanksgiving Drive Public Food Sorts on the holiday weekend
   
  On Saturday morning, London 2012 Olympians will be donating their time and volunteering to help out at Daily Bread. Over six hundred volunteers on Thanksgiving Saturday and Monday will be sorting and packing food donations at Daily Bread Food Bank.
   
  The Thanksgiving Drive ends on October 14 and Daily Bread is hoping to raise $400,000 and 400,000 pounds of food. So far, $215,000 and 118,000 pounds of food has been raised.
   
Note: Daily Bread is fully booked for public sorting. No volunteers are required.

GENERAL FOOD DRIVE INFORMATION

The fastest, easiest way to make a financial donation is online at www.dailybread.ca. You can also donate by phone with a credit card by calling 416-203-0050. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at any local fire hall or participating grocery store. Most needed food donations include baby food and formula, pasta, rice, canned tuna, canned vegetables and fruit as well as powdered milk.
