The CBC We Want Town Hall
SASKATOON, Sept. 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Friends of Canadian Broadcasting will convene The CBC We Want, a town hall meeting in Saskatoon tonight.
|What:||An evening of expert discussion, audience participation and musical entertainment|
|When:||7 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday September 25th|
|Where:||The Theatre, Frances Morrison Library, 311 - 23rd Street East|
|Who:||The town hall will be moderated by management and communications consultant Ian Alexander, former on-air host and executive with CBC Radio and Television.|
|Among the panelists:|
|• Kent Allen, Saskatoon-based stage and screen actor|
|• Brenda Baker, Saskatoon-based writer, performer and former arts journalist and broadcaster concerned with CBC's responsibilities to the so-called 'regions'.|
|• Carrie Gates, Digital media creator, designer and VJ|
|• Maggie Siggins, author and television producer; longtime Saskatchewan resident; member of the Steering Committee of the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting|
|Live music by Sheldon Corbett, Bruce Wilkinson and Ellen Kolenick|
|Why:||For the first time this century, Canadians will have an opportunity to weigh in on the future direction of the CBC when the national public broadcaster's licences are reviewed this fall.|
