Studio Lounak is launching the webcomic hub KIMIQ.com
MONTREAL, Sept. 6, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Studio Lounak, the Montreal-based creative studio that is behind the graphic novelisation of the video game Assassin's Creed, has released today a new project that the whole team has been working on since the beginning of the year : a free webcomic hub!
Kimiq.com gathers numerous professionals working in the comic and illustration industry, and publishes exclusive content every day of the week. Among these artists, the studio is thrilled to announce the collaboration of Yvon Roy, cartoonist at the newspaper Huffington Post, and Yves Rodier and Frederick Antoine, authors of the comic El Spectro, produced by the French publisher Le Lombard.
« The web, rapidly changing as it is, developed a whole new generation of readers. Kimiq.com is an initiative whose goal is to satisfy these new readers with great quality comics, all the while offering to its artists the possibility to remain focused on their art and ensuring the economic viability of their work », said Fabrice Forestier, founder of the Studio Lounak.
The purpose of the website is to simultaneously broadcast as widely as possible the works that are published — in both French and English — and to maximize the opportunities to capitalize on the content created by the artists. In addition to the publication of the works in book form, Kimiq will produce a variety of subsidiary products such as prints and limited bookplates (ex libris).
