Media Advisory - YWCA of Calgary to hold annual fundraising event YWCA WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES®

Calgary men will take a stand against family violence

CALGARY, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW/ -

WHAT:     The YWCA of Calgary (YWCA) is challenging Calgary men to help women and their children walk away from family violence with the annual fundraising event YWCA WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
For the eighth consecutive year, brave Calgary men will step up to the challenge by strapping on a pair of high heels and walking two laps around Olympic Plaza. By registering for the event, participants are taking a stand against family violence and raising money to support the work the YWCA does to help women and their children thrive in a safe environment. Money raised supports all aspects of the work the YWCA does to break the cycle of family violence.
