Boréalis among HSBC International Business Awards finalists
MAGOG, QC, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Boréalis is very proud to be amongst the finalists for the HSBC International Business Awards, an HSBC Bank Canada initiative launched in collaboration with BUSINESS without BORDERS, which highlights the achievements of Canadian enterprises that have distinguished themselves internationally with regards to Trade and Business Strategy.
Since 2004, the company has been developing software which allows companies operating in the Mining and Oil & Gas industries to meet their corporate social responsibility commitments in every part of the world. Among the four awards to be presented to finalists, an "International Business of the Year" prize will be awarded to a small-to-medium enterprise whose excellence is attributed to innovative strategies, a clear understanding of foreign markets, and having successfully faced the challenges of exportation. In the "Leadership in International Trade" category, two other prizes will be awarded to two enterprises having distinguished themselves in areas of high economic growth, namely: Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
Finalists have been selected by a panel of experts consisting of representatives from Export Development Canada, the Economist Intelligence Unit, Import Export Canada, University of British Columbia, McGill University, Groupe Les Affaires, Canadian Business magazine and the Globe and Mail. Winners will be selected by the expert panel and honored during a Gala event reuniting all contest finalists, which will be held in Toronto on October 23, 2012.

To qualify for HSBC International Business Awards, a company must be owned by a majority of Canadians (50.1 percent) and its headquarters must be located in Canada. At least 10 percent of its sales must be generated abroad, with a sales increase of at least CAD$ 2.5 million for each of the previous two fiscal years.
