Sun-Rype Share Purchase

VANCOUVER, Aug. 31, 2012 /CNW/ - Jim Pattison announced today that Great Pacific Industries Inc. has acquired an additional 258,200 common shares of Sun-Rype Products Ltd. ("Sun-Rype"),  representing 2.4% of the outstanding shares through purchases on recognized Canadian stock exchanges.  Following the purchase, Great Pacific Industries Inc. owns, directly and indirectly, an aggregate of 5,660,700 Common shares of Sun-Rype, representing 52.46% of the outstanding shares.

The shares of Sun-Rype to be purchased will be held for investment purposes.  In the future, Great Pacific Industries Inc. (and/or its affiliates) may acquire additional shares of Sun-Rype or dispose of such shares subject to a number of factors, including general market and economic conditions and other investment and business opportunities available to it.
