Frank Kelton to lead Potential Place Clubhouse
CALGARY, Aug. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - Potential Place Society Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Frank Kelton, MSW, RSW, MBA will become the Interim Executive Director effective immediately, replacing Dr. John Rook who has moved on to lead the Calgary Homeless Foundation.
"Frank brings to this position a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership in the areas of mental health, addictions and industry" said Jennifer Chan, Chair of the Potential Place Board of Directors. "He also has frontline leadership and academic training to serve and support Clubhouse Members in their wellness goals, including employment, education and housing".
The Potential Place Board is confident that Frank has the skill, desire, motivation and the leadership capabilities to improve collegial relationships throughout the Clubhouse, to improve attendance as well as healthy lifestyles.
Frank has been involved with Clubhouse for two years delivering several psycho-educational modules to Clubhouse Members and staff during a practicum leading up to his Masters in Social Work and has been an active member of the Board of Directors over the past 18 months. He has also been an active volunteer over the past 10 years in areas of mental health and addictions primarily with Alberta Health Services and in private counseling.
Frank has also worked in the energy industry in leadership capacities for over 25 years in areas of national regulatory affairs, pipeline transportation and distribution, commodities derivatives brokerage and risk management consulting.
Frank is a recent MSW graduate of the U of C (2012). He has a certificate in Addiction Studies from Mount Royal University (2008), a MBA from McGill (1994), a BComm cum laude from Concordia University (1979) and a diploma in Cogeneration Technologies from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) (1991).
