Media Advisory - 2012 Danone Nations Cup - Canada's top youth soccer players compete in Toronto for a chance to represent Canada in Warsaw, Poland
TORONTO, July 14, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - After a series of provincial selection camps where Danone Nations Cup's coaching staff evaluated the play of over 5,000 young soccer enthusiasts, 24 of Canada's best 10- to 12-year-old soccer players are to compete in an ultimate match for their chance to be part of the Canadian team at the Danone Nations Cup. This year, the largest international youth soccer tournament in the world is taking place in Warsaw, Poland, home to the UEFA European Football Championship!
The Eastern and Western teams will be facing one another at BMO Field - home to Canada's National Soccer Team and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer.
The winning team, along with two additional players from the defeated team who demonstrated extraordinary sportsmanship and athletic ability, will head to Warsaw in the fall to compete with no less than 39 other teams from around the world.
