PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Manulife Financial today announced the official opening of its head office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Presided over by H.E. Dr. AUN Porn Moniroth, Minister attached to Prime Minister and Secretary of State of The Ministry of Economy and Finance, the historic event took place at Raffles Hotel Le Royal where Manulife partners, government officials, a number of guests and local media representatives joined in the celebration.

In his Keynote Address, Bob Cook, Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager, Asia, said, "In the month in which we celebrate our 125^th global anniversary, we find it so fitting to start this new and exciting chapter, serving the people of Cambodia. We would like to thank the Cambodian government for their great support in making today possible. We look forward to continue working with them to make a success of this great opportunity."

Also speaking at the event, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Manulife (Cambodia) PLC, David Wong said, "We deeply appreciate the support we've received from both the Cambodian and Canadian governments."  Mr. Wong also emphasized how important the Cambodian market is to Manulife Asia and how committed Manulife is about this market.
