Media Advisory - Sept. 25 - Governor General's EMS Exemplary Service Medal Recipients in your community
LONDON, ON, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - Major General Richard Rohmer, Canada's most
decorated soldier, will present the Governor General's EMS Exemplary Service
Medal to 125 paramedics from across the province at a Gala Awards Dinner held
in their honour on Thursday, September 25 at the London Convention Centre.
This Canadian Honour recognizes professionals in the provision of pre-hospital
emergency medical services to the public, who have performed their duties in
an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency.
As well, three paramedics will receive the McNally Award of Bravery for
demonstrating exceptional courage in the line of duty. They are Sheri
Sutherland of Peel Regional Paramedic Services, Sylvain Veuilleux of Prescott
Russell Emergency Services and Rob McColeman of Toronto EMS.
The awards ceremony is the highlight event of the Association of
Municipal Emergency Medical Services of Ontario (AMEMSO) and the Ontario Base
Hospital Group (OBHG) Conference which takes place at the London Convention
Centre, September 24 - 26, 2008.
AMEMSO is the provincial organization of the leaders of municipal
Emergency Medical Services in Ontario and the Base Hospital Group represents
the physicians and their support staff entrusted to provide medical oversite
and quality assurance to municipal ambulance services.
