QLogitek integrates and automates trading partner processes for Virgin Mobile
TORONTO, Nov. 19 /CNW/ - QLogitek has tailored a solution to Virgin
Mobile Canada which allows the telecommunications company to integrate and
automate its former EDI-based trading partner procurement processes. QLogitek
established a hosted middleware "Order-to-Cash" automation solution that
closely integrates Virgin Mobile's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform
with its chain retail trading partners, thus allowing for true B2B
collaboration between Virgin Mobile and its retail community.
Formerly, Virgin Mobile utilized a variety of web-based portals sourced
from QLogitek to manage its retail trading relationships. These portals
allowed Virgin Mobile to quickly expand its presence within key Canadian mass
merchandise retailers. Chain retailers generally require that critical supply
chain data such as purchase orders, advanced shipment notices, payment
information and bar code labels be exchanged electronically with their
suppliers. While portals provided quick-time-to-market for Virgin Mobile, the
data from these web-based applications had to be manually entered into Virgin
Mobile's backend information systems.
The new collaborative solution will phase out the current duplicative
process between the retailer-specific B2B portals and Virgin's PeopleSoft ERP
platform, by removing the multiple portal interfaces and streamlining the
disparate business processes into the one common middleware solution, complete
with each retail trading partner's business rules, alerts, and notifications
in a single environment - Virgin Mobile's ERP. A deeper level of integration
with its customers means that Virgin Mobile Canada can serve its retail market
faster, bringing a diversity of products at the right time to the right market
at the right price.
