Media advisory - Public Policy Forum presents NEWS & the NETIZEN: Exploring Democracy through the Relationship between News Media, Technology, and Youth Engagement
OTTAWA, Nov. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - In partnership with the Canadian Newspaper
Association, the PPF will hold a symposium on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 to
discuss the interconnections between the evolving state of news media,
technological innovations, and civic engagement among youth. The event will
focus on democracy in the internet age, the shift from mass media to personal
media, and the generational differences in democratic participation. By
bringing together experts from various sectors and creating a space for
intergenerational dialogue, the symposium will examine the implications of
changing dynamics for the role of news media, the practice of democratic
governance, and the relationships among citizens.
