Media Advisory - Insurance Bureau of Canada teams up with Operation Red Nose to combat impaired driving this holiday season across Nova Scotia

HALIFAX, Nov. 7 /CNW/ - Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), on behalf of
Canada's home, car and business insurers, is joining forces with the Operation
Red Nose, to get holiday revelers -- and their vehicles -- home safely in
three Nova Scotia communities during the holiday season.
Operation Red Nose is a free designated-driver service that helps keep
roads safe. Last year over 500 volunteers helped drive in excess of 1700 Nova
Scotians and their vehicles home and raised over $25,000 for Safe Grad
programs in Sydney, Truro and Halifax.
At a news conference to be held on Wednesday, November 12, Bill Adams,
Vice-President, Atlantic, IBC, will announce details of the 2008 program.
Special guests will include The Honourable Murray Scott, Minister of
Transportation, Infrastructure and Renewal; HRM Deputy Police Chief,
Christopher McNeil; Mr. Rick Perkins, VP NSLC; Safe Grad Student
Representative, Amanda Arbuckle and the Operation Red Nose mascot, Rudy!
The news conference will take place at 10:30 am at the Nova Scotia
Provincial Legislature, Red Room.

B-roll and other visuals will be available. Telephone interviews can also
be scheduled following the announcement.
