Energy Savings Group opens New Call Centre in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Energy Savings Group celebrates the
grand opening of a new 48,500 square foot, customer service call centre in
Mississauga that will serve approximately 1 million customer accounts in
Canada and the United States, and will house nearly 500 customer service
representatives. This expansion has already created 50 new job opportunities
and the company has plans to add more new staff in the coming year drawn from
Mississauga and the surrounding area.
"We are very excited about this new call centre here in Mississauga,"
says Rebecca MacDonald, Executive Chair of Energy Savings Group. "To serve our
growing customer base, we decided to hire rather than outsource, and will be
doubling the capacity of our call centre team over the next several months."
Formerly housed within the company's head office in Mississauga, the new
facility at 80 Courtney Park West features state-of-the-art technology and a
comprehensive, open concept design. Customer Service Representatives will
handle calls in multiple languages for natural gas and electricity services
for residential, commercial and industrial customers in Alberta, British
Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Illinois, Indiana, New York and Texas.
"When we decided to expand our call centre operation, it was an easy
decision to stay in Mississauga and hire locally," added Energy Savings CEO
Brennan Mulcahy. "This is a great place to live and conduct business. We are
committed to becoming North America's leading energy retailer and to
delivering the highest level of customer service. The new call centre will
help us achieve this goal."
Having recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, Energy Savings Group
was named the 2007 'Company of the Year' by the Ontario Energy Association.
The award was in recognition of the company's corporate leadership, commitment
to innovations such as green energy options and customer service, as well as
its proactive work with legislators and regulators.
