Scotiabank Changes Mortgage Rates

    TORONTO, Feb. 2 /CNW/ - Scotiabank announced today the following changes
in residential mortgage interest rates, effective February 3, 2009:

    -  two-year closed     5.15 per cent   (decreases by 0.65 per cent)
    -  three-year closed   5.15 per cent   (decreases by 0.60 per cent)
    -  four-year closed    5.69 per cent   (decreases by 0.36 per cent)
    -  five-year closed    5.79 per cent   (decreases by 0.66 per cent)
