VivaNext is York Region’s plan for a network of bus rapid transit, subway extensions and light rail transit that will create a transit system that will make it easy to travel in and around York Region, and connect to other transit systems across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The vivaNext plan supports the vision set out in the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, part of Ontario’s Places to Grow initiative. These projects are part of Metrolinx's $1.4 billion commitment to improving transit in York Region, one component of a larger $9.5 billion commitment in the priority projects of Metrolinx's regional transportation plan, The Big Move.
